My wife, Vilma

Vilma

I met my wife, Vilma, when we were college students at the Leyte Institute of Technology (it's now called the Eastern Visayas State University) in Tacloban City.  I was an Economics student then and she was a Chemical Engineering student.  We fell in love and got to know each other well while we were working on our school paper.  We were married in 1985 and will be celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary this year.

Vilma works at the office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (or the Provincial Board) of Leyte.  She is also a licensed ham radio operator.  Her call sign is DW5VIE.

More than a year after Dikki was born, Vilma gave birth to another daughter.  We named her Kienne Cyrillie.  She's now grown into a beautiful young lady.  She wants to be a doctor like her Auntie Ethel so she took up Medical Technology as her pre-med course and will become a Doctor of Medicine someday. Kienne is a licensed ham radio operator.  Her callsign is DY5KC.

Our granddaughter, Kyla

Kyla

On March 2004, Kyla Lois was born to our daughter Kienne.  Vilma and I had difficulty at first to accept that we are now grandparents.  Kyla's laughter and winning ways helped us in our transition period.  We are very proud of her.  She is a licensed ham radio operator.  Her callsign is DY5KLA.

Shortly after we were married, Vilma gave birth to our first-born, a beautiful little girl whom we named Diane Katrina.  We fondly called her "Dikki" (which we derived from the initials of her name).  She was an adorable little girl, very smart, full of life and love.  Sadly, she died of leukemia at the age of 2 1/2 years.  We still miss her.

Our son, Jan Vincent

Ian

Jan Vincent (whom we nicknamed "Ian") was born in 1992 when Kienne was 6 years old.  She was thrilled with her baby brother and took good care of him as they were growing up.  Ian is now a teenager.  He is in his third year of high school at the Leyte National High School in Tacloban City.  He enjoys school and is involved in many school activities. Ian is also a licensed ham radio operator.  His callsign is DW5CSC.

My Parents

Nathan, Mama, Papa, Vilma

My father, Felix Eamiguel, was a former public prosecutor who went into the private practice of law after his retirement from government service.  He was a big influence in my life, especially when it comes to my study and work ethics.  My mother, Beatriz Eamiguel, was a former pharmacist and teacher who gave up working to stay with her children.  In her quiet way, Mama taught me the value of fairness and being non-judgmental toward others.
